Village Board Minutes

May 20, 2026 (XX)

A regular meeting of the Village Board was held May 20, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the Firehouse, 16 Saratoga Ave.

Deputy Mayor Bedell called the meeting to order & led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll Call:  Deputy Mayor Bedell, Trustee Clark & Trustee Kietzman were present.  Mayor Miller & Trustee Stollery were excused.

Minutes of May 6, 2026 were not available for approval.

PUBLIC COMMENTS, QUESTIONS & CONCERNS (AGENDA ITEMS ONLY) – none.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS

CLERK-TREASURER – Clerk-Treas Colson was present, report for 5/20/2026 read & filed.

The Board gratefully accepted a donation from Maureen Bogle & Barbara Telasky in memory of their mother, Betty Bogle, to be used for the flower plantings.

Motion by Trustee Clark, seconded by Trustee Kietzman, approved payment of abstract #23 in the amount of: Payroll $39,440.09 (#1055-1056); General $118,131.66 ( #1057-1093; 1096-1097);  Water $98.05 ( #1096); Sewer $309.09 (#1061; 1096-1097); and Capital Projects $7,038.23 (#1094-1095).
Carried – 3 – 0

Resolution #XX approved, budget transfers.

FIRE DEPARTMENT – Chief Granger was present

DPW/WATER/WWTP – Supt Lozier was excused.

BUILDING INSPECTOR – Insp Hepner was present, report for 5/20/2026 read & filed.

Trustee Kietzman questioned the progress of a lot on Fourth St, Insp Hepner stated cleanupis in process.

OLD BUSINESS – none.

NEW BUSINESS

The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center Agreement was removed from the agenda, the agreement is a template & not for consideration at this time.

Motion by Trustee Clark, seconded by Trustee Kietzman, approved CCSD Senior Parade for June 26th  at 7:15 PM with rain dates of 6/25 at 6:00 PM and 6/27 at 10:00 AM.
Carried – 3 – 0

Resolution #XX approved, appointment of Phyllis Morreale as Planning Board Chair for a term to expire June 2031.

Motion by Trustee Clark, seconded by Trustee Kietzman, approved special event application from the Free Methodist Church for worship services on the Beach Saturdays June 6 – August 29 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM with bathroom and electrical outlet access.
Carried – 3 – 0

Resolution #XX approved, hiring of Rylee Dunbar as Park Attendant at $18.50 per hour.

PUBLIC COMMENTS, QUESTIONS & CONCERNS

Dave Roberts, Mechanic St, appreciated the new trail signs at the Reservoir.  Mr. Roberts also offered to provide photos of notable spots on the trails to add to the trailhead sign.  The Board approved the addition of photos.

BOARD COMMENTS, QUESTIONS & CONCERNS

Trustee Kietzman updated the Board on Image Committee events including additional activities for Independence Day weekend.  Trustee Kietzman has created a banner honoring Revolutionary War veterans from Corinth to be carried in the Memorial Day & Independence Day parades.  Trustee Kietzman also mentioned potential community development grants and the importance of housing need assessment data.

Motion by Trustee Clark, seconded by Trustee Kietzman, that Board adjourn, 6:26 PM.
